Seefeld is located at 11 miles (17 kilometers) northwest of Innsbruck and is famous in Europe as a great center for cross-country skiing; it has also two small areas for Alpine skiing recommended to beginners. Tulfes is a small village situated at about 8 miles (12 kilometers) east of Innsbruck and features mostly easy slopes suitable generally for beginners, 7 ski lifts and almost 13 miles (20 kilometers) of cross-country trails. Stubai Valley is a another picturesque village located near Innsbruck that is renowned for the Stubai Glacier, but also as a great destination for family vacations; the glacier skiing area features over 62 miles (100 kilometers) of ski trails and excellent snow conditions from October to June.
